I guess I should start from the beginning of that weekend. Jason and Sofie left Thursday morning (Sept. 3) and headed up north, leaving me behind. Jason had an interview in Salt Lake that afternoon and since I had class on Friday I had to stay behind. While Jase was in his interview, Sofie got to have lots of fun playing with her uncles. Jason told me after his interview when he called, that he felt the interview had went well. In the meantime, I tried to figure out what to do with myself being all alone. I went to class the next morning and luckily we got out early and I headed up north. I felt so awful that I didn't get to wake up and see my baby the morning of her birthday. In fact I didn't get to see her until almost six that evening. But while I was driving, Sofie had fun with daddy.
She got to cuddle with Grandma.
And finally I got there and when Grandpa came home we let Sofie unwrap a present or two. The first one was from Aunt Jen. Sofie never did quite get into unwrapping. Maybe next year.
I'd put videos but they are on the camcorder and it's up north.
On Saturday we went boating and had lots of fun!
Here are pictures of the birthday girl eating her cupcake.
Finally! Sofie's hair is long enough for pigtails! Aren't they darling!
And last but not least, Sofie finally decided she likes the swings. So we went to the park Saturday and had fun playing.
And now for the "other good news". While I was on my way north on Friday, I got a call from Jase. He told me that they had offered him the position he interviewed for the day before! So it's official, we are moving back home! Yeah! We can't even tell you how excited we are to be back, close to family! Jason leaves this Sunday and starts his new job Monday. He is the Manager for the new Intermountain hospital in Riverton, including the Primary Childrens outpatient center that will be part of the hospital. So exciting! Sofie and I get to hang around here a little longer while I finish school. And though we are very excited to be moving and know that it is what we are supposed to do, we will miss the friends we have made here.
Oh! I almost forgot! Sofie had her 12 month checkup. Here are her stats. She weighed in at 23 lbs 1 oz and was 30 inches long. She was in the 75% for both weight and height. I'm only 60 inches tall. I just can't believe that my baby is already half my height!
