Sofie Lou!

Well, another week has come and gone. Crazy how fast time goes. The best part of this week: Jason's mom was able to visit. The worst part: We never pulled out the camera while she was here. :( But we had lots of fun and enjoyed visiting!

Sofie and I enjoyed a little girly fun. We played with her hair and painted her toenails! So fun!

We also finally dared get in our pool. It was a little brisk but after swimming a bit we got used to it and it ended up being quite refreshing.

Sofie and I also had a fun little outing with our friends! We went to a little splash park behind our library and also went and listened to some stories and songs at the library's toddler time.

I couldn't pick just one, they were all so cute! This is our little friend Emsley. Our other little friend Haley was there too but again, I didn't pull out the camera. I seriously wonder sometimes if my brain actually works. They were all so cute and after getting used to the water they loved it! This park is really fun even though it looks like they are just sitting in muddy water. The water is clean :) and we had to sit here because they didn't like the waterfalls or river part. It was the perfect spot for them to just splash in the water.

Sofie is really moving around now and today she was into everything. I just thought she looked so darling. But then, I think she looks darling every day!

Ignore my messy house. Once again, Sofie was waiting for us this morning, bright and early. This picture shows better what she does than the last one I posted.

Our Sofie Lou is just so fun! We call her Sofie Lou because... well I'm not really sure why but she used to tilt her head from side to side if you said Sofie Lou Sofie Lou over and over and over. It was so cute! I wish we could have got a video of it but we were never able. It stopped as soon as the camera came out.

Sofie fought sleep forever tonight and nothing seemed to work to get her to fall asleep. She finally fell asleep with her daddy. So precious!

First Swimming Trip

We were finally able to take Sofie swimming. It took her a little while to actually warm up to the water but we stayed in for almost an hour and by the time we got out she was splashing and laughing. The water in our pool is still a little cold but it shouldn't be too long until it's perfect. Hopefully this week! Yeah!

Sofie has figured out how to sit herself up and now this is how we find her when she wakes up. She is just sitting there waiting!

We have found that this is one of the easiest ways to get Sofie to fall asleep. It's probably bad and we should probably make her fall asleep on her own in her crib but it is just so sweet to have her cuddle next to us. She loves sitting between mommy and daddy on the couch and it only takes a few minutes before she falls asleep.

Sofie is getting brave!

Sofie has the biggest smiles and is such a happy baby!

Sofie had her follow up appointment yesterday. Sadly, there was no change. The strong antibiotic she was on did nothing. Her ears were still red and full of fluid, her tonsils were still red and inflammed and covered with pus, she is still congested and her lungs still have fluid in them. On a more positive note, she wasn't any worse. So now the doctor thinks it is allergies. We have no idea what she is allergic to but we are starting with milk. She was put on a new formula for babies with severe cow's milk and food allergies. She hates it and it is quite the fight to get her to drink it. I really hope this works because the doctor told us that if her ears don't clear up in the next week or so she will have to have tubes put in. It won't solve the problem but it would save her hearing and ears. I would like to avoid tubes if we can. But she is still a trooper and is really happy most of the time!

She's Movin'!

First, thank you for keeping Sofie in your prayers. We really appreciate it and know that she has definitely been blessed. She is doing much better than she was! I just hope we can get to the bottom of this and hopefully she will be healthly for more than just a few days for the first time since January. Jason managed to catch this video of Sofie doing her army crawl. She LOVES the laptop for some reason and will do anything to get to it!

Kellen came down for the weekend so we took him hiking in Zion's. Well, we actually did alot of driving and only one hike but it was a decent hike! It had an amazing view at the end!

Pretty amazing!

Uncle Kellen got lucky! Sofie snuggled with him!

Now that Sofie is feeling better she is constantly pulling herself up! I still can't get over how amazing it is to watch her grow and learn and just how fast she does it!

Sofie loves just hanging out with her daddy!

I caught Sofie playing and thought it was just too cute!

Daddy has been feeding someone popsicles! And she has decided she loves them! That's all we have for now but I will try to update more often.

Update

This will be short. We haven't taken many pictures lately, my camera is full and I'm so paranoid about losing all my pictures that I have to make several back up cds before I erase them and I just haven't had time yet. Here are the few I did get.

Sofie thinks she should be able to stand and tries to pull herself up all the time.

And, once again Sofie is sick. I don't know what I am doing wrong but she always seems to be sick. We spent two and half hours at the dr's yesterday while they ran tests. She doesn't have Strep, RSV, or the Flu. But she is so sick. She got sick really fast and I don't know why but this time feels so different than all the other times she has been sick. I worry all the time anyways but this time is so much worse. It is so scary to hear her raspy and wheezy breathing and to be able to hear how congested she is and not be able to do anything about it. I am constantly checking on her because she seems to have a hard time breathing sometimes and I just have to know she is okay. They didn't know what was wrong so they gave her some strong antibiotics but so far we haven't noticed a difference. So, most the day I find myself in tears, worried sick. But she is such a trooper and smiles and still says "mama" which helps. It helps to know that she'll be getting a blessing and hopefully we'll be able to post soon that she is better.
