Sofie loves, loves, LOVES cars! She loves real cars, she loves toy cars, and she really loves, and I mean LOVES the movie Cars. I've been a bad mom and let her watch it at least once a day. Its just so nice that she sits so quiet. And she will just sit on her little pink couch and watch the whole thing. And she has it all memorized and I love to watch her watch the movie because she will quote along with it. It's just so cute! Grandparents have bought her Cars fruit snack, and little toys cars, and mommy and daddy bought her a little car she can ride in. She loves all of them! We went to the store to get vitamins and mommy that she could get away with plain old generic ones when Sofie spotted some Cars vitamins. She wouldn't let go so we got those instead. I just think its so funny that when we go to the store she is always spotting "Mater" or "Lightning McQueen" or "Cars". You'd think a little girl would be more into princesses or girly things like that. I guess not Sofie. When we are in the car she watches all the other cars and is always pointing out "big truck" or "garbage truck" or "school bus".
Since we are so far behind we have to go all the way back to Easter. Please excuse the nearly naked pictures. We had tons of fun decorating eggs this year. Sofie enjoyed it too. It's been so fun that she is old enough to do more things with us.
We even had an Easter egg hunt. It lasted barely 5 minutes but we did it. We have a cute little video on our phones but I'll have to figure out that another day.
We found out what we are having. Yup, it's a boy this time. We are excited and have decided on the name Wiatt Jace.
This is the first ice cream cone we have ever let Sofie really have all by herself. We discovered the little 75 cent dipped kiddy cones at Paces and they have now become a regular family treat. Sofie loves them and really does a pretty good job on them.
Sofie also loves shoes. She loves to wear everyones shoes. She especially loves this pair of mommy's gold heels. Amazingly, she can walk around in them better than I can.
I thought this picture was precious. Sofie loves her daddy. She says the sweetest things like "my daddy" and "I love you daddy".
This is Sofie's first camping trip. Sad it took us almost two years. But she had a blast at Uncle Aaron and Aunt Janae's trailer. She especially loved the puddles. And the time with her aunt and uncle. She and Aunt Janae have become good little buddies since. Sofie let Janae paint her nails and it's been over a week since yet she can still tell you who painted the "pretties" onto her nails.
So I guess Sofie does have some "girlieness" in her too. I took her to a baby shower last week and as the gifts were being open Sofie kept saying "ahhhh" and "cute"! So funny!
And last but not least, some funny pictures I had to share. Again, sorry about the nakedness but that's partly what made it so funny! She wanted shoes on and they had to be her snow boats. So funny!
I guess some other little tidbits to add would be we got callings in our ward. Jason and I teach the 5-6 year olds in primary and I got roped into playing the organ. Ugh. At least I'm one of four so I only have to play once a month. My first time is this Sunday and I'm pretty nervous. I try to tell myself "what's the worst everyone can do to me" but that doesn't help much.
We also need to post pictures of our house. It is slowly getting put together the way we'd like. We have to thank our families for all of their help though. We couldn't have got it the way it is without their help. They did a ton for us with all the moving, painting, bead board, and the yard. We also have to thank our neighbors for planning a reception in their backyard. It got us going because we felt bad that our yard looked like such a dump and would kinda ruin their yard for the reception. So with lots of help we got it all cleaned up, only to have the day the reception was planned for to be cold and rainy. But at least our yard looks pretty decent now and the fire pit is buried. So far we have had one fire and it was fantastic... although it was much less stressful after Sofie went to bed!
I also started a new job with Legacy Healthcare. They provide home health and hospice services and I took a job as their on call RN. I work seven days on and seven days off. The hours are decent, 5 pm to 8 am on week days and 24 hours on Sat and Sun. I'm on my second week on call and I love it. I get decent hours but I'm home all day and don't have to leave until Jason get home and even then, I'm only gone for a few hours. Unless there is a crazy night which has happened but even that wasn't bad. And there are the nights too when I don't get called out at all. I usually get an average of two call a night and most are just questions that I can usually answer over the phone. And I get to sleep all night most of the time.
Jason also got a new job. He applied for and got a job as the training supervisor and I really should know the region and all the details but... I don't. I just know he works in Ogden now and the pay cut he had to take was all made up for in the amount we save in gas. And he is home alot more which we really love. And he is happier, I think he enjoys this job more and gets to see more of his brothers and old friends.
So, life is good. We are enjoying life and work and family and hopefully the weather will give us some summer to enjoy soon too!
