Food! Glorious Food!

Here are some pics of Sofie's first attempt at solid foods.

At first, she wasn't very sure she liked the rice cereal. But then, once she realized it was food, she seemed to like it. I'm hoping she does because it is a lot cheaper than formula and she was wanting to drink 12 oz every 4 hours. She was draining bottles and our bank account!

Here are some other pictures from this past week.

She wore herself out playing with her toys.

And here, she was all tuckered out after yet another big meal!

She just looked so sweet asleep in daddy's arms I just had to have a picture!

These are the flowers Jason gave me for our anniversary. He says he picked out a couple bunches and made the arrangement himself. I think they turned out gorgeous! He also gave me chocolate but of course that didn't stick around long enough to get a picture!

Sofie's Trick

Is it bad that we think this is funny? It probably makes me a terrible mother that I like this but she is just so cute! She works so hard to get it off or into her mouth. Everyday she learns more and more. She is just so much fun!

Who Sent This Snow?

This is what we woke up to the other day. Funny thing is, we thought that was bad. This morning it was twice as deep!

Whoever sent their snowstorm down to sunny St. George is in big trouble! We were hoping to avoid the snow!

Sofie is starting to discover her toes. I think it is just so fun to watch her! She seems to be trying so hard at times to reach them.

Here are some bath time pics.

Happy Anniversay Honey!

Can you believe it has been a year?! It has gone so fast! And just when I think it can't get any better, it does! Jason, I LOVE YOU! I married the most amazing person in the world! Every day I am so grateful for you and your patience with me! I still find it so hard to believe that you actually picked me! But I'm oh so glad you did! You are the best husband and the most amazing daddy! Again, I LOVE YOU!

In one year we went from this...

To this...

We started out in a hundred year old farm house. Remember that? With the old house smell that made me oh so sick those first few months of the pregnancy? And then there was "Grandpa Lawrence's" old bedroom that he haunted at night and sometimes during the day. And the really old basement chuck full of all sorts of interesting old things. It was so fun to poke around in! And then there was the trash compacter! That might be my personal favorite! Remember how Aaron got it opened (We thought it was locked and couldn't be opened) and lo and behold it was still full of trash from who knows when! Judging by the looks of the cereal boxes we were guessing the seventies! It probably wasn't but either way it was gross! Good times!

And then we moved 350 miles south and had to learn to survive on our own. We moved into a nice basement apartment that has to be the complete opposite of the old farmhouse. Brand new and not smelly! No ghosts or old stuff to look through. We have enjoyed it and have now taken the next step and bought a condo. Hopefully we will have pictures soon!

We have definitely had a good year, haven't we Jase?! Here are some pics of some of those good times!

This is at Kolob Canyon in July.

Isn't She Sweet!

Sofie loves to put her hands behind her head when she sleeps. She just looks so relaxed!

Silly Girl!
I had put this headband on Sofie a few Sundays ago. She fell asleep right before church so I put her in her carseat. When we went to go put her in the car this is how we found her. Poor girl! I can't imagine it's comfortable to have a headband around your eyes! Later that day, on our way home from church Sofie just started to fuss and then scream. We had pulled her headband off and left it above the head rest of the carseat. When we got her out of the car we found her with the headband back around her head and in her mouth. No wonder she was so upset!
I wanted to have some pictures of Sofie in her Christmas dress so I took some of her the other day. Granted they are definitely not perfect but I thought they turned out pretty cute! This picture is one of my favorites. She just looks so cute with her dress spread all around her. Her new thing is to grab onto her clothes and always have something in her mouth. Sometimes it's her pacifier or her fist or fingers or in these pictures it is her dress. It made it a little difficult to get the pictures taken because I was constantly having to pull her dress back down.

I thought these ones were cute too. She is almost smiling in one. She wasn't very interested in having her picture taken much less smile for me. So we did the best we could.
